This place is the best place! I "transfered" to CCR, and it has been the best place for me. The teachers and everyone cares about the students. I know that for a fact. The program is awesome! Try it for yourself. You don't have to take my word!

Developing the skill of machine shorthand is HARD. If you aren't putting in the required amount of time, then yes, you will take longer to progress. This is not a skill that comes naturally to most and it needs to be worked at. CCR offers over 20 hours a week of speed building classes, lots of audio and striaght copy practice, and more tests than anyone would ever want to take.

This is to offset the negative review above. I'm a current student at CCR and they do a fabulous job helping students build speed and perfect their theory. Even if transfer students come in with a different theory, their grading software can make outline suggestions for multiple theories. Not to mention, after you enter speed building classes you tweak your theory to whatever works for you personally. No theory is the same. My sister and I both learned the Phoenix theory, but cannot read each others notes because we brief and phrase differently.

Learning machine shorthand online is possible through CCR! I've never once felt as though they were just after my money. The teachers are all very personal in their feedback. They have expanded classes to evenings and even weekends. They have made some awesome improvements to their class schedules and grading software. If you can't get through the program, it is to no fault of the school. They provide everything you need to get though it at your own pace and when it is convenient for you.

From a former onsite student- This place at first seems to be really nice. Faculty preaches about "professionalism" and they do everything they can to tell you that you can succeed in court reporting. They employ incendiary marketing schemes and tell you that there are tons of "great paying" court reporting jobs all around the world. Then once you are there you realize everything cost money, it takes WAY more than 2 years to master the skill of stenography, and almost every single faculty member is related to each other. Most of the staff here AREN'T EVEN COURT REPORTERS. They hold unavailing college degrees in disoriented areas. You take courses such as "Modern History" that is the equivalent to elementary school social studies. You may be surprised to learn that these colleges of court reporting and court reporting schools have 85% to 90% dropout rates and average graduation rates of 2 to 14 percent. Do research before attending this school; whether online or onsite. And be wary of spending a fortune and having nothing but a lifetime of debt.
