If u looking for mental health this is not the place they tried making me the Guinne pig on sum new be meds almost died.. Will never go here again and suggest this place to no-one !

Ladies at the front desk are always rude! Get a new line of work if you have that attitude towards your patients everyday.

A person is not allowed to see a case manager if you are not eligible for Medicaid, which is unfair and harmful to those who need information and assistance. On two separate occasions, I was given appointments with the wrong practitioners. The first time this happened, I was told upon arriving that the psychologist with whom I had an appointment only sees women patients. Why didn't they know this when I made the appointment in the first place? The second time, an appointment scheduler scheduled the appointment with the wrong person, a psychiatrist, when the staff member I saw was a psychologist. Even though I had been in their residential program a long time ago, the case managers back then never discussed with me how I would be able to continue to afford living in the community in the future, when I would be older and would have to eventually retire from my job. The intake social, worker I saw before seeing the psychologist and then the actual therapist asked a lot of questions, as if they were doing some kind of research study, which was not the case. Even though this is a community mental health center, the psychologist seemed to have some difficulty understanding the concerns I have as someone who has a disability and is low-income, in being able to afford the necessities of continuing to function. Also, they offer psychiatry, even though a staff member at a university medical school's department of psychiatry pointed out that medication won't improve my economic circumstances which are the main reason for me to be uncertain and concerned about my being able to continue living on my own. The state politicians in Indiana are largely selfish, poorly educated people, because the mental health center once had a supported employment, which they no longer have, due to budget cuts.

At the inpatient Ward you have to listen to Bob or he will throw you to the floor and abuse you then give you a shot or two with no regard for your wellfare. So if you ever end up there in a fight or flight situation fight because it will be as bad either way. For outpatient they are a non for profit but are charging me 2$ a minute to my insurance company each time they need to take me to the gym for example. Don't read your Bible out loud around Bob or he will lay his hands on you.

Bob the black security guard in the inpatient adult unit is a jerk in my opinion he is repugnant he has no people skills and he is a hypocrite so this black guy Bob isn't worth dealing with if you have to go somewhere go somewhere else to a hospital because Bob will make your stay miserable at Porter Starke he broke my collarbone wrestling me to the ground over nothing
