The boom truck was the only plus. Maybe I was expecting too much from a Local Lumber Yard that's been in the community for decades. You hear horror stories about how bad the lumber is from such places as Menards. I ordered some lumber for a small project from Von Tobel and what I received looked like cast off's from Menards scrap pile. Von Tobel seems to have dumped every piece of cast aside garbage that was warped, split very little nailing face they had on me. Boom truck aside, I'll be going to one of the big box improvement centers for my next project (1200+ sq ft of unfinished basement).
This store impresses me every time. While they can run a little more expensive that the chain stores, their outstanding customer support and assistance with everything from paint, to lumber and counters makes it worth it. This is my go to hardware store.
